Fuzzy Wuzzy

Fuzzy Wuzzy

So as of yesterday, I became Jackson’s teacher.  We filed our “Notice of Intent to Home school” yesterday at the county school board.  Honestly, I think the local schools here are pretty good.  We had a few minor issues, but what our decision boiled down to was “What is the best thing for Jackson?”  When we evaluated how every thing was going we realized that he finished 3rd grade significantly ahead of where this 4th grade was starting.  He was complaining of being bored and I understand why.

It is not that the public school in particular was inadequate.  It was simply not the best for a student who spent the first 4 years of his education in a private Christian school using the A beka curriculum.  So now we are home schooling and Jackson is an apprenticeship for pastoral ministry!

Tomorrow I meet the Blue Ridge Home School Moms for the first time!  Now that ought to be interesting!

  1. Congratulations on your decision. I home school, too!

  2. That is so wonderful. I really respect homeschool parents. Not to mention that you and Kristen are both fantastic teachers! Jackson is a lucky kid!
